Trust LED is an official partner of Eco-Schools, the largest sustainable schools initiative in the world, working to provide LED lighting for schools in the North East and across the UK.
Any school can join the Eco-Schools programme, be it a nursery, primary school, secondary school, college, or a school with special status.
Joining the Eco-Schools programme is completely free and is designed to be flexible, to make tackling sustainable issues as easy as possible for every school. You can find further information about the scheme on the Eco-Schools website.
Trust LED and Eco-Schools are working together to replace traditional school lighting with new, brighter and more energy efficient Trust LED lighting in schools across the nation. Benefits of Trust LED lighting include:
- 80% savings on lighting costs
- Maintenance costs reduced to zero
- Reducing carbon footprint
- Positive community impact
- Better lighting
- Easy installation with no fuss
- Recognition and publicity.
How is the programme funded?
The good news is that schools do not foot the bill for costs associated with new Trust LED lighting schemes. All costs are designed to be off-set by energy savings, meaning the new lighting will pay for itself.
Salix enables public sector organisations across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to take a lead in tackling climate change by increasing their energy efficiency. Salix provides 100% interest-free capital for the public sector to reduce their energy costs by enabling the installation of modern, energy efficient technologies and replacing dated, inefficient technologies.
Carbon Trust Funding
Funding is also available through Energy Efficiency Financing Scheme offered by the Carbon Trust in conjunction with Siemens Financial Services. Finance repayments are designed to be offset by energy savings, so the new lighting will pay for itself.
